"For as long as we can remember, our darling Nacho has always had digestive problems. When we got Nacho, we assumed he had giardia. As giardia in puppies can lead to long-term digestive problems, we went straight to the vet to get it cleared up. The vet discovered he had parasites and recommended a course of treatment. We were able to get rid of the parasites, but unfortunately Nacho is still battling with the consequences of having giardia as a puppy.

His gut wasn't able to regenerate as it should, resulting in Nacho still regularly having diarrhoea. Sometimes it's so bad that he even has blood in his stool. His diarrhoea is also connected to a loss of appetite and increased slobber. We also presume that Nacho has stomach pains. And despite us giving him enough food, he often loses a lot of weight.

We tried so many things to try and help our Nacho. First, we tried all kinds of dog food. Everything from dry and wet food to BARF. We thought that by switching his food, we could alleviate his symptoms, but it didn't really help.

Then we tried antacid pills. Every time Nacho had diarrhoea, we gave him antacid tablets, at least to alleviate his stomach pain. It did help a little, but his diarrhoea of course didn't improve. And we didn't want to always give him antacid tablets just to alleviate his pain. In the end, all we want is for Nacho to be healthy.

Finally, a few months ago, we discovered mammaly and tried our luck with Lucky Belly dog treats. The results are much more than we ever could have hoped for. His diarrhoea has become a lot less and Nacho's gut flora seems to have significantly improved with the dog treats. Even the slobbering has become less.
